Ladies Charity Tournament October 3rd 2019

A resounding success for raising funds for the Cound Guildhall, 32 lady players from all around Shropshire came and supported this first time event at the Club.  Thank you so much for everyone who came and to Sara Sartain and her group of ladies who provided a wonderful lunch.

Honouring our past members...Cound Tennis Club has a rich history of long standing members, many of whom have dedicated significant effort and time into making the club successful since its founding.  We are proud to honour past members by running memorial tournaments to pay homage to their contributions.

We had a record 20 entries for the American Tournament held at Cound on Sunday June 19th 2016 in memory of our dear lady player Mary Camber.  Family and friends of Mary came to the club to share some fun mixed doubles play and for a lovely BBQ spread donated by our members and friends.  Thank you to everyone who made the day special, and it was especially lovely to see Mary's daughter Sophie Camber who also has grown up playing at the club. We will all miss Mary who made a great contribution to ladies tennis at Cound, having played many league matches as well as many hours of social tennis. Congratulations to Julie Pinnell who won the tournament and to Kevin Fletcher for Runner Up. It was a very close competition.
